1September 28th, 2014 - Jake Griffin's first weekend back in the Dirt Modified after a little break went better then expected.

On Friday the JGR team traveled to Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Illinois). After heat race problems, Jake he started at the tail of the field for the 20 lap feature. Weaving his way through the field he made his way to fifth at one time before falling back to the seventh position to end the feature. Full results from the event are available at

Sunday evening the team raced the final night at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois), after charging to a second place finish in the heat race Griffin would start the JGR #08 in the third position for the 25 lap feature. He made his way up to second before falling back to third and riding there for a few lap. Around lap 10 Jake was running third and the left-rear spring cup broke and the spring fell out resulting in an ill handling racecar, but Jake managed to hold on for a seventh place finish! 1September 21st, 2014 - After a more than a month away from the track Jake Griffin returned to action on Sunday night with a United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) Modified event at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois).

A field of thirteen entries took part in the event, and a fifth to second run in his heat race sent Griffin to the feature in the fifth starting spot. Jake would go on to finish sixth in the finale behind race winner, Steven Delonjay, Brian Lynn, Shawn Deering, Jared Schlipman, and Chris Spalding.

"I can't thank everyone enough who helped us get back out there," said Griffin. "A big thanks goes out to Rick Frankel for all the motor help and getting it dialed in for us. It really felt great being back out there."
