May 23rd, 2014 - Jake Griffin powered Tim Plummer's #66 Open Wheel Modified to his first victory of the season with a triumph on Friday night at Hawkeye Downs Speedway (Cedar Rapids, Iowa). Via preliminary action Jake earned a front row starting spot for the feature, and then proceeded to lead every lap of the feature on his way to the victory!

May 17th, 2014 - Jake Griffin entered the 2nd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pro's 144 at Lebanon I-44 Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri) over the weekend in the #54 Five 4 Motorsports/PADD/Jack Links entry. The JEGS/CRA All-Star event drew many of the nation's top short track racers to the paved oval. Via qualifying Jake started eleventh on the grid in the thirty-one car field for the 144 lap affair.

During the first half of the event Jake ran around mid-pack, and at the break at the lap 100 mark he held down the 24th spot. In the final 44 laps Jake enjoyed a great surge forward through the field as he passed sixteen cars to finish in the 8th spot. Overall it was a great outing for the team.

"I really enjoyed working with Five 4 Motorsports and Daniel Hemric again," said Griffin. "We really improved through the weekend, and I can't thank all of my sponsors enough for their great support."

May 14th, 2014 - 15-year-old Griffin will return to the driver's seat of the #54 entry for Five 4 Motorsports, which is owned by NASCAR competitor, Daniel Hemric, this weekend at Lebanon I-44 Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri) for the 2nd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pro's 144.

"I'm excited to not only pilot the #54 for Daniel (Hemric) again this weekend, but I'm excited to go into battle against veterans like Sterling Marlin and several other top drivers," said Griffin.  "Last year I had a great time taking part in the inaugural event, but had a little bit of bad luck.  This year I'm ready to make a solid run at the big payday."

The weekend will mark Jake's second outing in the #54 Jack Links entry for Five 4 Motorsports.  He debuted in the ride last month at Hickory Motor Speedway (Hickory, North Carolina).  Jake is no stranger to the high-banked, 3/8 mile oval at Lebanon I-44 Speedway as he became the youngest driver to ever win a Pro Late Model race at the facility with a triumph on August 17th, 2013.

The event this Saturday posts a $8,000 top prize, and as the entry list has already shown it will be a talent laden field of cars.  An open practice session will be held on Friday evening, while qualifying and the 144 lap finale will be contested on Saturday.  The event is being sanctioned by the JEGS/CRA All-Stars.  For more information on the event please visit www.I44Speedway.net .

Ma1y 11th, 2014 - The weekend opened on Friday night with Jake Griffin returning to the driver's seat of Tim Plummer's #66 Open Wheel Modified in a Weekly Racing Series Event at Hawkeye Downs Speedway (Cedar Rapids, Iowa). Griffin started his night by winning his heat race, which left him starting third in the feature. Jake caught leader with four laps to go, and was side by side with him, when the leader cam came down into Griffin. The contact bent the a-frame and ball joint relegating Jake to a third place finish. Full results from the program are available at www.HawkeyeDownsSpeedway.com.

The weekend drew to a close on Sunday night at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) in Jake entered another UMP Open Wheel Modified event at the 3/8 mile oval. May 4th, 2014 - A busy weekend of racing opened for Jake Griffin on Friday night at Hawkeye Downs Speedway (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) as he returned to his old stomping grounds to pilot Tim Plummer's back-up Open Wheel Modified in a Weekly Racing Series Event at the paved oval. Griffin started his night by winning his heat race to earn the third starting spot for the feature. Jake ran in the second spot throughout the feature,and pressured the leader for the top spot on multiple occasions before finishing second. On Sunday evening Griffin piloted his Bob Pierce #08 Jake Griffin Racing Open Wheel Modified in an UMP Open Wheel 1Modified event at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois). The night didn't start on the best of notes as Jake was only able to manage the twelfth fastest time in the sixteen car field. A fourth place finish in his heat race sent Jake to the tenth starting spot for the finale. In the feature Griffin enjoyed a good run as he charged through the pack to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Michael Long, Jared Schlipman, and Robbie Reed.
