1May 19th, 2013 - It was a busy weekend for Jake Griffin Racing as they once again competed on dirt and asphalt.

Action began on Friday with open practice for the Masters of the Pro's 144, which was held at I-44 Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri). The JEGS/CRA All Star tour event drew many of the nation's best Asphalt Late Model drivers to the famed oval for the tour's richest event of the 2013 campaign. Practice saw the team chasing the setup on the car for much of the day before ending the practice on a high note.

Saturday found qualifications being held, and Jake would struggle on his timed laps, which resulted in him starting fifth in a last chance qualifier. With the top two finishers transferring to the coveted finale, Jake was attempting to make a pass for the second spot, when contact with the second place runner caused Griffin to spin from contention as his weekend came to a disappointing end.

Sunday night found the team returning to Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) for 1a Weekly Racing Series Event in their #08 Bob Pierce UMP Open Wheel Modified. Difficulties in preliminary action left Griffin starting thirteenth on the grid for the feature event. Despite less than favorable track conditions Jake rebounded to score a sixth place finish at the checkered flag in the finale. Full results from the event are available at
