1July 28th, 2013 - Saturday found the team at Lebanon I-44 Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri) participating in a Late Model program that featured twin 25 lap features. In the first main Jake started last and raced his way to a 2nd place finish. The second feature he again started last before recording a 4th place finish at the checkered flag.

Overall it was a very solid outing for Jake and the team. Full results from the event are available at www.i44Speedway.net.

The weekend concluded on Sunday evening at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) with an UMP Open Wheel Modified event. 1Twenty entries were on hand for the race, and after qualifying 6th fastest in time trials Jake found himself on the pole of the dash after an invert of six was drawn. He charged to the dash win to lock into the pole for the feature with David Wietholder starting alongside. Early in the feature Jake was shuffled back to as far as the 5th position before he began mounting a charge back to the front. He was up to the 3rd spot, when the car went dead forcing him to retire to an 11th place finish. Full results from the event are available at www.QuincyRaceways.com.

1July 26th, 2013 - The weekend opened for Jake Griffin Racing on Friday evening with a trip to Lucas Oil Raceway (Indianapolis, Indiana) for another JEGS/CRA All Star Tour event. With Kenny Wallace in action as Jake's teammate, the outing starting on a strong note, when Griffin registered the 2nd fastest time in practice. Griffin carried his momentum into qualifying, where he registered the third fastest time in the 29 car field. After qualifying an invert of three was drawn for the feature, which put Jake on the pole with Chad Finley starting alongside.

Early in the race Griffin assumed the 3rd position and would run there until about lap 50, when he began to experience steering problems. The issue began to get worser, and would come to a head on a late-race restart, when the car shot left on a restart. Jake headed pitside, where it was discovered that both brake rotors on the front were break. The issue forced Griffin to disappointingly retire from the race to a 28th place finish. 1July 21st, 2013 - In what has become the norm for Jake Griffin Racing it was another busy weekend of dirt and pavement action for the young driver.

On Friday the team traveled to Anderson Speedway (Anderson, Indiana) with the JEGS/CRA All Star Tour as a teammate to Snowball Derby winner, Erik Jones. Via qualifications he locked into the 14th starting spot for the 100 lap feature on the 1/4 mile, bullring. Jake raced in the top ten throughout the event before crossing the finish line in the 9th position. The finish marked his third straight top ten finish with the series. On Saturday evening it was back to the dirt oval as Jake entered an UMP Open Wheel 1Modified Weekly Racing Series Event at Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri). A strong field of 31 entries took part in the program, and while heat race action left him just short of locking into the feature a 3rd place finish in the b-main transferred Jake to the 21st starting spot for the main event. 1The weekend concluded on Sunday evening at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) with another UMP Open Wheel Modified Weekly Racing Series Event. Preliminary action positioned Jake starting 7th on the grid for the main event, and he went on to advance three spots to finish 4th behind race winner, Steven Delonjay, Robbie Reed, and David Wietholder. July 12th, 2013 - Jake Griffin return to action on Thursday evening at the 1/5 mile oval at Macon Speedway (Macon, Illinois) in UMP Summit Nationals competition. Twenty-eight entries were on hand for the event, and after qualifying 4th fastest in his group Jake raced to a 3rd place finish in his heat race to lock into the 10th starting spot for the 25 lap finale. He raced throughout the top ten in the feature before recording an 8th place finish at the checkered flag.

Friday night took the team to Callaway Raceway for an UMP Open Wheel Modified Weekly Racing Series Event. Griffin enjoyed a solid performance as he raced to a 9th place finish in the final rundown.

July 7th, 2013 - UMP Summit Nationals competition took the team to Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) on Tuesday night for another program at the 3/8 mile oval. Thirty UMP Open Wheel Modifieds 1registered for battle, and after qualifying third fastest in his group Jake finished fourth in his heat race to earn the 16th starting spot for the 25 lap finale. In the feature he battled the handle on his car as he was only able to manage a 17th place finish.

On Wednesday evening the team invaded Jacksonville Speedway for another UMP Summit Nationals program. While he struggled in qualificaitons Jake finished sixth in his heat race before winning his b-main to lock into the 17th starting spot for the feature. In the main event Griffin raced his way to a 14th place finish.

Action shifted to La Salle Speedway (La Salle, Illinois) on Thursday evening, where a stout field of 48 entries were on hand. Griffin was running in a transfer spot in his heat race, when he was run over by another competitor, which cost him a transfer spot and sent him to the C-main. Jake raced to the win in the C-Main, which sent him to the B-Main, where he started in the 11th position. He passed five cars to finish 6th, but still fell short of earning a transfer spot to the main event as his night came to an early end.

On Friday evening the team traveled to Fayette County Speedway (Brownstown, Illinois) for the next round of the UMP Summit Nationals. A field of 28 entries were on hand for the program, and Griffin finished 3rd in his heat race before battling the setup in the feature to a 12th place finish.

Saturday night found the team pitted at Highland Speedway (Highland, Illinois) with the UMP Summit Nationals. However, late in the evening heavy rains arrived that nixed the program.

The team concluded their ultra-busy weekend on Sunday evening at Tri State Speedway (Haubstadt, Indiana) with a stacked field of 48 Open Wheel Modified entries. Griffin found himself behind the eight ball early in the evening after struggles in time trials, and would ultimately have to take a series' provisional to start on the tail of the field. He would go on to race his way to a 15th place finish.
