He ran in the third spot for the majority of the event until lap 79, when he lost the brakes on his entry. In an effort to not crash himself or someone else Griffing retired to a 19th place finish in the final order.

Jake would like to thank all of his great crew members and sponsors for their hard work and support during the busy two weeks of action on dirt and pavement.

February 21st, 2013 - It was back to business on Thursday night for Jake at New Smyrna Speedway (New Smyrna, Florida) for another round of the Super Bowl of Racing in his #08 Jake Griffin Racing Super Late Model. He started the night by qualifying tenth fastest to earn the tenth starting spot in the twenty-seven car field. The team missed the setup for the feature, and as a result Jake battled the setup for much of the event. While running twelfth with three laps to go Griffin decided to pit under caution. He rejoined the tail of the field and would go on to advance to a sixteenth starting spot. Full results from the event are available at www.NewSmyrnaSpeedway.org.

Missed on the setup last night, started 10th, went back to 12th with 3 laps to go. Under caution we figured we had nothing to loose because there was only like 5 cars behind us so we came into pit and made some adjustments to see how the car would react. Finished 17th I think

1February 20th, 2013 - Jake was back in competition at the 1/2 mile, paved oval at New Smyrna Speedway (New Smyrna, Florida) on Wednesday night in his #08 Super Late Model against a talented field of competitors during the Super Bowl of Racing. Via qualifications Griffin registered the ninth fastest time to lock into the ninth starting spot for the feature. Early in the main event he slipped as far back in the field as the fourteenth position before mounting a late-race charge back to an eighth place finish. 1February 19th, 2013 - Tuesday evening found Jake bringing the UMP Open Wheel Modified portion of the 42nd Annual UNOH DIRTCar Nationals to a close at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida). The night began with the field being divided into three feature grids with their line-ups determined by their point totals for the week. With an inversion of the top ten in points in place Jake started tenth in his feature and early in the race he was moving through the field, when bad luck struck as a broken motor abruptly ended his night. Unfortunately, not only did the motor issue end his feature, but it also forced him to scratch from the Six Pack Dash, which was composed of the six drivers in the nation, who received the most fan votes to be in the event. 1February 18th, 2013 - Jake was back in action in the dirt on Monday night with the $5,000-to-win, Gator Championship at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida). Via his performance on Saturday night he locked into the fifteenth starting spot for the 30 lap feature, which pitted him against many of the nation's best drivers. Griffin had high hopes for the feature, but those hopes would be dashed early in the event, when a broken pull bar caused him to fade through the field. He ultimately retired to a 23rd place finish. The night started on a good note as Jake was third quick in the first practice and sixth fastest in the second practice. Qualifications saw Griffin register the seventh fastest time, which put him on the pole for the feature. February 15th, 2013 - After seeing Wednesday and Thursday night's UNOH DIRTCar Nationals events at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) 1nixed by rain, Jake Griffin Racing was finally able to return to the track on Friday evening with a $1,000-to-win, UMP Open Wheel Modified event. Eighty-two entries filled the pit area, and the night began on a strong note for Jake as he qualified second to only Kenny Wallace in his group qualifying, which locked him into the third starting spot for his heat race. In the heat he slipped to a fifth place finish and with only the top two finishers moving onto the feature he was forced to run a b-main. In the b-main he charged through the field to a third place finish, but again with only the top two finishers moving onto the feature Griffin's night came to an early end. While it was disappointing to not make the feature it will still a great night of racing for the team. Full results from the event are available at www.DIRTCarNationals.com.

1February 12th, 2013 - Jake Griffin Racing entered the opening night of the 42nd Annual UNOH DIRTCar Nationals on Tuesday night at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) as a stellar field of 81 UMP Open Wheel Modified competitors registered for action. After qualifying eighth fastest in his group he started eighth in his heat and would fail to advance any positions during the course of the heat. As a result he was mired deep in a b-main, and again fell short of racing his way to a transfer spot. As a result his night came to an early end.
