December 7th, 2013 - After securing additional sponsorship from Madd Hoss Jackson, Jake Griffin Racing added one more race to their 2013 schedule as they made their first-ever trip to the legendary Five Flags Speedway (Pensacola, Florida) to participate in the Snowflake 100 portion of the 46th Annual Snowball Derby.

A talent-laden field of fifty-five entries were on hand for the event, and after successful pratice sessions on Friday, business picked up on Saturday morning as qualifying was held. He registered the 21st fastest time in his #08 Jake Griffin Racing/P.A.D.D./Madd Hoss Jackson/McPike's Pawn Shop entry to lock into the 21st spot for the 100 lap event.

The team had high hopes, but lap 8 found Jake being collected in wreck that included multiple cars. Initially Jake thought that he had missed the incident, but contact from behind caused him to crash. After several trips to pit road for repairs Griffin was able to rejoin the tail of the field, but the damage resulted in an ill-handling car as he was only able to manage a 23rd place finish.

"It just stinks for my team and my sponsors to have our day turn sour so early," commented Griffin. "We all work so hard, then the day gets ruined by a move like that in the opening laps. I still want to thank everyone for supporting me and my team. I had a blast and look forward to coming back next year."
